Highroad to Admissions – The First Kid

Sending your kids to school can be a bit of a hassle but not more than getting them into one. If you are doing it for the first time, let me tell you – it is not going to be an easy task. But if you break it down into steps then your life might just be a whole lot easier.

The Groundwork.

There are a lot of criteria you would prefer to narrow down your options for the perfect school. So while researching you need to check a few things like the academic and the co-curricular level of the school. Secondly, you need to keep in mind that the distance should be as notified by the school policies and thirdly, you focus on how much attention the school pays to the personal growth of the child. Finally, you check which schools fall under the intersection of your preferences. You can ask the people around you about the inside information and their personal experience to choose wisely.

Be prepared well in advance.

Keep in mind that you have all the necessary documents that are necessary and are asked by the schools. Things like the domicile certificate, Certificate of birth, a valid Address Proof, etc. These are the things that should be necessary for the admission process. Make sure that they are attested by gazetted officer. This will save you time and trips to school.

It’s time to chat.

If everything goes well so far you would be called in for an interview. Now you would think that they are going to interview your kids but I’m sorry to break it to you, it is you under the spotlight. These days the school are keen on knowing the background of the kid through their parents by interviewing them in depth so that they are sure about everything. Don’t be nervous! They just want to get to know you and your child a little better by asking questions like “Why our school?” or “Why should we have your child at our school?”

Patience is a virtue

After all these things are done, the wait begins! I’m sure you must have done it for a lot of schools so far and you wish that the right school selects your kids. You must even have your favorite one with all the facilities that you know would help your child’s future. You must have done all you could have so far, but now is the time to just wait for the response.

My niece is about to step in the school. My sister is very concerned about finding the appropriate school for her. She has been following many of these steps but I’ll share this with her so that she does it in an even better way and find the best school for her daughter in every way.
