06 Apr 5 Parenting Hacks To Help Toddlers Sleep Through The Night
There’s no two ways about this…
Babies sleep a LOT!!
At any time or place they deem worthy….
But there’s a catch (there always is!)
These pocket sized humans don’t tend to doze off for long. They don’t survive off deep slumber like the rest of us.
This leaves us working through the graveyard shift or worse…
(There’s a reason why ‘how to get baby to sleep through the night’ is one of the most googled topics on the web)
Don’t fret about it!
We’ve done the research for you and put together 5 parenting hacks used by pro parents to help babies sleep through the night.
1. Bed time is the Best time
Save your toddler’s favorite activity for last, and do it in the bedroom. This associates sleep with things they like and works like a charm!
2. You like to move it move it?
Awesome! We like it too…but only during the daytime.
The easiest way to help toddlers differentiate between day and night is to make days social and lively, and nights quite and calm.
3. Nobody Moves and No-one Gets Hurt
It’s best to make nighttime conditions in your baby’s bedroom consistent. If they wake up in the middle of the night, the sounds and lights in the room should be the same as when they fell asleep.
Unless you want your baby to wonder ‘OH GOD WHERE AM I’ in the middle of the night, followed by lots of you know what…
4. Put your baby down drowsy but awake.
If you put them to bed after nursing them to sleep they’ll be dependent on you forever.
You got to teach the little one how to sleep. If they learn to doze off on their own they’ll be able to do it in the middle of the night without you too. (more Zzzz’s for us!)
5. Bathing right before bedtime
Bathing before bedtime calms them down and also ensures they smell good throughout the night. (better smells equals better sleep as well)
Oh..and before we forget!!
Far Warning: Once you’ve mastered the art of creating a great sleeper, the next thing coming is -‘how do I get them out of bed in the morning?’ :O :O
Until then…share your progress below or if you’re already wayyy ahead of us, feel free to share some of your hacks in the comments section below.
(we’re all in this together :D)
